Most weekly cruise nights will
begin in March or April. As soon as I have cruise night
details confirmed, I'll add them to our website calendar and earliest
available LSCC newsletter.
What exactly is
a cruise night? It's usually a car/truck show held at
a local restaurant and hosted by an area car club. LSCC
members and their vehicles are welcome to attend and register
at any show. Most shows begin on Saturday afternoons and
end about sunset. Usually entry fees are in the $10 range.
There are normally about a dozen car classes which you can choose
from. The classes place cars in different year groups
( 50's cars, 60's cars, etc.) or in catagories such as muscle
cars, street rods, or sports cars. At the show, you'll
park your car, pop the hood, and put up display boards or other
information about your car. An entry number will be placed
on your windshield. Each entrant will receive a ballot
to vote for their favorite vehicle in each class. This
is called participant voting. At the end of the show,
trophies or plaques will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and sometimes
3rd place winner in each class.
nights focus on being a social gathering of car lovers of all
types, not just Corvettes. You can spend a few hours enjoying
the beauty and uniqueness of all the vehicles which cruise in.
You can also pick up great detailing tips by watching and talking
with fellow cruisers. And, you don't have to enter your
car. You can just stop by to visit with your friends,
and come away with new ones you're sure to meet. Join
in on the fun in 2003!
